My main focus of my practice is working with kids, teens and young adults. I specialize working with athletes and high achievers dealing with anything from anxiety, stress, or even trauma. The goal is to help these young people get to a state of balance in order for them to train and perform at their best. I also have a background working with young people that struggle with chronic pain, chronic illness or significant injury. The mental health piece of physical healing is often overlooked. In reality it can be the most significant piece of the healing.
I also have significant experience working with young people that have parents with personality disorders. I also have worked with many parents and teenagers to improve communication, trust and motivation in both parent and teenager. I feel it is crucial for parents to be involved in their children's healing when ever possible. It is a combined effort.
Sitting across from a stranger telling one's story can be overwhelming. The client counselor relationship is my top priority. I believe in an outside of the box approach of working with clients. I see clients in my home and in schools. I use sand tray, play therapy, art therapy, and invite clients to be active in session. My practice is dog friendly.
